LOLST: the 12 part meme quiz
Welcome to the world of LOLST. Don't bother clicking this video if you don't know your internet memes well. And if you aren't a meme encyclopedia and click anyways, don't blame me and rant that the video is not funny, because it assuredly won't be.
You probably know when you've been Rickroll'd, but do you know all the other million-plus pageview YouTube vid-memes like you are a pirate, the stuttering YTMND-like nine thousand, and of course the adolescently poetic the balls are inert? Do you also know your gaming memes, like oldschool "you triggered my trap card", or the myriad universe of "additional pylons", Ken Hirai's E3 "Ridge Racer" debacle, and the Viva Pinata commercial? And it doesn't stop there because there are pop or meme references to many other genres... the cake song anyone? Are you drawing a blank?
Then don't bother because believe it or not he made twelve of these LOLST videos. The list of all 12 LOLSTs is here.
If you think you have what it takes, get a pen and paper so you can identify the meme behind each and every audio sample behind all twelve videos, and you'll have a hell of a ride. Oh yeah, and this fun is all set to video of Lost.
Oh btw if you want to actually learn your memes through study of the intertubes, check out YTMND's meme wiki, not Urban Dictionary.
Alternate crashes
I received a YouTube video submission (thanks Corey) that immediately reminded me of Conan O'Brien's Emmy Awards intro video (above), which spoofed Lost (among other shows). Of course it begins with an alternate plane crash with Conan on board. In case you don't understand Hurley's parting comment, this was the year when Lost was totally snubbed with zero Emmy nominations, one year after garnering 12 nominations and winning Outstanding Drama Series.
Anyways, here's the submission I received below. Like the above, it's a short intro video featuring an alternate plane crash, apparently made by a student for a high school project... but it's so very nicely done that it's worth showing to you. Presumably, like Conan's video, the screening of this video was followed by a live appearance of the cast depicted in the video. Enjoy.
Josh's Books

Over at Lost-TV forums, user "Cousin Eddie" has been a long time contributor of humor, and was brought to my attention by A.B. from loststudies.com. I had always thought loststudies was only for serious treatises on Lost, but apparently I was wrong =)
The animated GIF above is from a set of four from Cousin Eddies' book review page at Loststudies. A.B. also points out that Cousin Eddie has lots of image-humor posts over at Lost-tv forums in this thread. If you know of other Cousin Eddie URLs, go ahead and post them in the comments field.
I've got your man
Q: What do you get when you mix the Others' enforcer Ryan Pryce with Lost's most explosive scenes?
A: A flashback to MC Luscious in 1991: BOOM I'VE GOT YOUR BOYFRIEND...
thanks to "Steve" for this submission found on YouTube.
